Xbox Denies Blue Ray DVD Player Idea |

Microsoft more specifically the team who runs the Xbox 360 gaming console has decided to not create an add-on available blue ray DVD player. This move is a huge blow to the format just for the fact that the Xbox 360 is the most widely used gaming system in the country if not the entire world. I was hopeful that Microsoft was going to adopt the idea of a blue ray DVD player. This would have given added flexibility to a system that can already fulfill the majority of gamers entertainment needs.
The Microsoft Xbox Product manager has stated that they are not in talks with Sony or anyone associated with blue ray DVD players. Xbox will attack the future of media distribution through online downloads available on Live. Xbox Live already allows users to download games, movies, TV, themes, game add-ons and music. Blue ray movies would have been the last bit of icing on the cake but I can understand why they said no. Would you have supported the blue ray format on the 360 or would it have been a useless add-on. |
